HCRC's 2008 Christmas Party

Our annual Christmas Party will be held on Thursday,
December 18 at the VFW in Florence, MA. Refreshments will be served beginning at 6 PM. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM.

The meal will be catered by Dave LeFountain of the VFW. Last year's event was well received and Dave has agreed to serve the same menu items again this year. There will be a choice of roast pork loin or stuffed chicken breast. There will be a salad, vegetables and oven browned potatoes. Coffee will be served and there will be a cash bar.

There will be an RSVP form attached to this newsletter. Please let us know how many will be attending and which menu item you want. We are requesting this by December 10. You can let us know at the December meeting or by calling Dave Sherman at (413)774-7375 or Gordie Lauder at (413)532-0135.

As in the past, we will request donations of appetizers and deserts. Pat Bouchard has agreed to coordinate the donations again this year. If you have questions about what to bring you can call Pat at (413) 786-9735 or Barbara Mitchell at
(413) 568-5012.
Ray Dolat has generously agreed to provide the entertainment again. Ray is a favorite of ours and provides great entertainment for our annual event. We want to thank Ray in advance.
The dinner is free to members and their immediate family with an appropriate donation to $10 for guests.

December Meeting Election of Officers

Please make sure that you come to the December meeting. This is our election of officers. We need as many members in attendance as possible.
This year we will be electing a new slate of officers and there will be openings on the board of directors. So try to make the meeting and get the job done.
We need input from members as to the direction that you want the club to take. Give us ideas about events, meetings and field improvements that you would like to see. It is your club, lets hear from you.

NEW YEARS' DAY FLY-IN

We will be holding our annual New Years' Day fly-in on, what else, New Years' Day, weather permitting. Someone suggested that we have a rain/snow date. Then it wouldn't be a New Years' Day fly-n but another Days' Fly-in. Whatever!
We always have fun at this event. If the weather is too bad it will not be held. If there is snow, we try to have the road plowed.
Bobby "O" and Rene "S" have agreed to cook for the event. We have a shelter set up with a fire and hot dogs and coffee. Even if you don't fly come on down and give us a hand or just have a hot dog and coffee and watch the fun.

Gone West

We regret to announce the passing of another of our long-time members Henry (Hank) Gajewski who passed away in November. Hank fought in WWII in the Asian campaign. He was a faithful club member and will be missed.
